The movie is based on the true life story of the northern part of Nigeria, where banditry has become the order of the day, with the poor being oppressed by the northern leaders via the introduction of sharia law used to weaponize poverty. These are children who were given birth to and, due to financial incapacity to take care of them, were sent out to become part of the Almajiri.
